Born in Taiwan and raised in the U.K., Sabrina discovered her love for music and orchestral playing at a young age through the Bedfordshire music service. Sabrina went on to study Music at the University of Birmingham, where she specialised in Orchestral Conducting, and pursued her postgraduate conducting studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under the Headley Trust Scholarship.
Sabrina is committed to working with young people. She is a member of the National Children’s Orchestra’s Support Team, and has worked with Birmingham youth ensembles such as the New Streetly Youth Orchestra and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Junior Symphony Orchestra. Recognising the transformative power of music education, Sabrina obtained her PDGE qualification as a secondary music teacher in 2022. She has taught at Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School and King Edward VI Handsworth Girls’ School.
As the Relationship Manager for the West Midlands at Future Talent, Sabrina plays a pivotal role in nurturing the region’s budding talents and fostering their growth. In addition to this role, Sabrina imparts her teaching expertise as a peripatetic violin teacher for Services For Education, and works as a freelance orchestral conductor, collaborating with amateur ensembles.
Through her teaching experiences and personal journey, Sabrina has witnessed the numerous barriers that young people face in their pursuit of music education. Motivated by these experiences, Sabrina is looking forward to contributing to the charity’s impactful work, and helping to foster meaningful opportunities for aspiring young musicians.
