The workshop provided an invaluable experience for our young musicians. In the morning, Sheku helped prepare young cellists for an upcoming performance at the Royal Commonwealth Service. Together, they worked through pieces by Klengel, Mozart, Brahms, and AE Hall, all transcribed for cello quartet. His guidance encouraged the musicians to develop their interpretation, technique, and confidence.

Next, an ensemble worked together through Shkoyach, an original composition by young cellist Avram. This exciting new piece is set to be performed at Future Talent’s 20th Anniversary Concert – RISE: Past, Present and Future Talent.

In the afternoon, young cellist Kiera had the opportunity to work one-on-one with Sheku, practicing a piece together and refining with expert mentoring. It was a fantastic session, and well done to Kiera for her hard work and making the most of this opportunity!A huge thank you to Sheku Kanneh-Mason for his generosity, support, and invaluable insights throughout the day. This masterclass was an unforgettable experience for our young musicians
